Custom Vs. Stock Abutments
The implant abutment is an essential component in cement-retained restorations. It’s the connector for joining the implant to the crown. There are two abutment options available to those undergoing dental implantation. The first are prefabricated abutments, which are pre-manufactured abutments mass-produced to fit an existing implant system. They are the most economical and are typically used for cement retained restorations. They can be both straight and angled. Although such prefabricated abutments fit well into the implant, they rarely offer proper shape and form. Customized abutments, on the other hand, will not only make the implant process more efficient but also ensure the long-term success of the implant. |
